Water Clover Holiday Necklace

I just finished up another necklace that will only be available for the holiday season (a more casual version will be available after the new year). So if you're interested let me know as I will only be making a limited amount. The chains are handmade from pink freshwater pearls and faceted garnet and the sterling silver pendant was designed after the Water Clover Plant.

I'm busy working on production and preparing for the big Holiday Shows (there is a list of upcoming shows on the right sidebar of this page). I'll drop in as much as I can the next few weeks and share some process photos and studio shots.
Have a great week!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Friday, October 30, 2009

Hey everyone! I've been juried into The Guild's Artful Home website and hopefully will be in their beautiful print catalog in the near future. I have a small collection available through their webshop, which I'll be updating and adding more pieces soon. The Guild has gathered together a great selection of handmade limited production and One of A Kind art and functional/wearable art. Check it out! You may just find something you can't live without.

Also wanted to share a new holiday necklace that I finished up last night. It's the Botanical Pendant Number 5 tht I posted a little bit ago but dressed up a bit for the holidays. It's got three chains (two handmade) of freshwater pearls and faceted chalcedony. There's a limited selection available just in time for party/gathering season so if you're interested shoot me an e-mail.

Have a great weekend!

Treasury in DC

A friend of mine from High School has opened up a boutique, Treasury in Washington D.C. that boasts a great selection of new and vintage clothing and accessories. They have recently received a small collection from my Botanical Series that will be available for the holidays. I'd like to wish my friend Katerina and her partner the best of luck in their ventures at Treasury! And thanks for including some of my jewels at the shop!

Cheers!

Slight Change of Plans for the Oak Park Sale this weekend...

Just wanted to give anyone who was planning on coming to the Oak Park sale this weekend a heads up...I won't be there tomorrow (Saturday). I'm getting over a terrible cold/flu and need one more day of rest to kick this thing in the can. I will definitely be there on Sunday from 11-dusk so come out and see me! It's supposed to be a lovely sunny fall day according to the weather channel.

Have a great weekend!

Various Notes of Interest...

I started designing and making some pieces using my new collection of plastic and rubber goodies! Can't wait til I have a little more spare time to dip into the rest of them. Here's what I've made so far...

As promised I also made a pair of Mini Garden Studs to go along with the Garden Stacker Rings

These will all be available in my Etsy Shop soon. I plan on adding everything that I've mentioned recently by this weekend (I'll be sure to let you all know when I get them up).

Last weekend I went up to Dekalb, IL with Eric for a Cyclo-cross Race. It's super fun to watch and cheer everyone on while letting loose and madly ringing a cow bell! Oh the perks of being a supportive girlfriend :) Here's a pic of Eric all geared up and on his bike. The race was nestled away in the woods. It was a lovely sunny day and a nice venture away from the city. I found and photographed some really beautiful shelf fungi.

I have some really exciting opportunities ahead that I will let everyone know about as soon as they are more solidified.

Back in the City , Back in the Studio and Back to Work...

I had a great time in Indy relaxing for a few days (well kind of...we ran a lot of errands). I started embroidering a set of new cards which I will photograph soon and share with everyone. I also got some books and started in on Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain (next I'll be reading the third book in the Sookie Stackhouse novels). He's a very clever, funny and witty writer and I'm thoroughly enjoying his book so far.

I was able to take a few photos for my inspiration book...

And on the many errands that we ran I was able to find and collect all kinds of little goodies that I can't wait to get my fingers on and use in my designs!!!

Now Off to Work!

Taking a quick break...

Dear Blog,
Sorry I have neglected you for the last week or two. Please accept my apologies.
Sincerely,
Moira K. Lime

This past weekend I had the pleasure of helping a friend and fellow artist, Jodi Rae at the Lakeview East Art Festival. It turned out to be a very fun and beautiful weekend. I took a few photos of her booth set up...which is just awesome! And I tried to snap a photo of me in one of the necklaces I got to wear for the weekend...pretty dorky :)

Anywho, I'm taking a quick break from all of my work and from the city and heading back to Indiana to visit my fam. I'm soooo excited to hang out in a yard and let the dogs run around freely. I plan on reading (I've been guiltily sucked into the Sookie Stackhouse novels), embroidering, eating, sketching and relaxing. I'm also planning on taking some photos of my mom's garden so be on the look out for some plant photos next week.

Here are a few new ring sets I've just finished up...they'll be in my shop soon.

A new variation on one of my best selling rig sets: Oxidized Stacking Petal Rings
Mini Garden Stackers with 14k. gold
These will be available as a set and also as single rings.
I'm working on some matching earrings too!

'til next time!

New Gallery...

A small collection of my work will now be available at Poppy, a wonderfully beautiful and warm gallery in Columbia, MO. If you happen to be in the area I'd love for you to swing by and check it out! If you're not close by they have a great website and blog with a lot of work for sale online. I highly recommend taking a minute to explore the site!

My friend Milena came to visit my booth at Renegade and snapped some photos for me...

Thanks Milena!

Also, I'll be participating in another sidewalk sale and Art Walk in Oak Park the 17th and 18th of October. I'd love for anyone to stop by and see me. I'll have some new pieces available along with most of my bestsellers. As the date approaches I'll stop in with more of the details.

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend!

A Whirlwind of a Weekend...

I'm feeling a bit tired still after this weekend...craft fairs are hard work! There were so many people out supporting the arts and crafts this weekend. Overall I think it was a pretty successful show! My booth neighbors were super nice and I had a wonderful helper both days! Eric if you're reading this I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am for your help and unconditional support (especially when it's a surprise)!

Here's a few photos of my booth setup...

Since it was my first big show I've still got some thing to work on to make my booth look a little nicer...get a nice laminate floor, some photos of my work to hang on the walls and a big sign outfront. If anyone has any suggestions, ideas or critiques I'd love to hear them!

I wasn't able to escape from my booth that many times and when I did I forgot my camera but there was lots of great knick knacks, hand knit hats and scarves, screenprinted journals etc, that I got to see! Eric and I did come away from the show with a fun pair of block bots! I'm the blue bot and he's the orange :) They're crafted by his friend Jeremy Wilson. Love them!

I've got to get back to work! So much to do still!
Hope everyone has a great week!

Last Minute Prep...

Hey all! I'm getting all the last minute preparation started for the big show this weekend...pricing, polishing, tagging, display details, etc. I was able to get a few photos of some new pieces that I'll have with me at Renegade and will be adding permanently to my collection after this weekend.

I was able to find some time this past week in the evenings to play around with my new hobby, embroidering. Here's what I made...
This small creation will be framed and hung in my bedroom. I'm planning on making a few more to go along with this one.

I'll be back on Monday to share how the show was and post some photos.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hey guys! As the big weekend nears I thought I should share all the Renegade Craft Fair info. Click on the link above and you can see a list of all the artists who will be showing.

I'll be at booth number 20 on the south side of Division St. pretty close to the Damen entrance of the fair. It's my first big outdoor show so come by and say hello! The hours are from 11-7 on both saturday and sunday (sept. 12th and 13th).

Gotta put my nose back to the grindstone!
